News (broadcast): Fox Entertainment Group delays Fox News Channel's...

...Special Report with Bret Baier by a half hour, renames it Fox Special Report with Bret Baier, and then airs live its first half hour on all of its company-owned Fox stations in the Eastern and Central Time Zones, live-on-tape on all company-owned Fox stations in later time zones, and syndicates at least its first half hour to all Fox affiliates.  [This would increase the number of broadcast network evening news programs: more choice is good for all.  As for the political biases of other programs on the Fox News Channel, even FNC critics (like Jon Stewart) view Special Report as a decent straight news program.]  To win this challenge, Fox Special Report with Bret Baier on FNC must then have its second half hour consist of its panel discussion and a third half hour added and consisting of what is currently its Wednesday Web Show.

As for the half hour evacuated by Special Report, FNC's The Five show could itself be extended to a 90 minute show and take over that half hour.]

Future Challenges:

1) The CW Network produces its own evening newscast.  [This challenge is harder since Fox is already producing Special Report with Bret Baier for its Fox News Channel and CW currently isn’t producing any news program of any kind.  Then again, if CW were to commission a half-hour evening newscast from CNN, this could be solved rather easily.  Possibly call such a show CNN on CW.]

First nationally-syndicated radio talk show host (who can currently be a host of a FNC show) to champion the original challenge and get:

2) Bret Baier to appear on their radio show where the original challenge is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get Bret to say on the air that he's in favor of the idea.

3) CEO of the Fox News Channel to appear on their radio show where the original challenge is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.

4) The CEO of the Fox Entertainment Group to appear on their radio show where the original challenge is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.

5) President of the Fox affiliate association to appear on their radio show where the original challenge is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.  [This might be a hard sell as many Fox affiliates are against giving anymore airtime to the Fox Broadcasting Network than they already are.]

6) CEO of News Corporation (parent of the Fox Entertainment Group) to appear on their radio show where the original challenge is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.

7) CEO of News Corporation (parent of the Fox Entertainment Group) to appear on their radio show and officially announce or confirm that the original challenge will now be done by them.

First nationally-syndicated radio talk show host to champion Future Challenge #1 and, getting them on show for at least fifteen minutes and in favor of the idea, the CEO of the:

8) CW Network to appear on their radio show where Future Challenge #1 is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.

9) Warner Bros. (50% co-parent of CW) to appear on their radio show where Future Challenge #1 is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.

10) CBS Corporation to appear on their radio show where Future Challenge #1 is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.  [This might be a hard sell since CBS already has its own national evening newscast.]

11) Time Warner (parent of Warner Bros.) to appear on their radio show where Future Challenge is discussed for at least fifteen minutes and get her/him to be in favor of the idea.

First nationally-syndicated radio talk show host to champion Future Challenge #1 and the CEOs of the:

12) CBS Corporation and/or Time Warner to appear on their radio show and officially announce or confirm that Future Challenge #1 will now be done by them.
