Prison Control: First maximum security prison in the US to allow inmates to freely grow, cultivate,...

...harvest, and use marijuana.  [If you want to get rid of prison violence and riots, Mary Jane is the woman who can perform this miracle.  A prison full of stoned convicts could be guarded by a single Girl Scouts troop.]  This challenge and the first two future challenges can be accomplished by way of citizen-initiated state-wide referendums.

Future Challenges:

1) First US state to do the above with all its maximum security prisons.  State must have at least two maximum security prisons to win this future challenge.

2) First US state to do the above with all its prisons.

3) First US House Representative or US Senator to successfully introduce a bill to Congress and get it signed by the US President that does the above with all federal prisons.

4) First major motion picture (premieres on at least 4,000 screens) that is a comedy based on the above idea.  [This could be the movie that brings back the comedy duo of Cheech & Chong.]

5) First TV documentary to chronicle a prison switching to this experiment and then following that prison for at least a year.  To win this future challenge, the documentary cannot be funded by a prohibitionist organization.

First radio talk show host to champion this challenge (either seriously or tongue-in-cheek) and:

6) Get an active-duty prison warden (state or federal), a professor of criminology, and a professor of criminal psychology to come onto the host's show and at least discuss this experimental technique in prison control.  The host and them must talk for at least a half hour on the air about the above original and challenges.

7) Get an active-duty or retired prison warden (state or federal), a professor of criminology, and a professor of criminal psychology to come onto the host's show and agree that this experiment should be tried to see if it can reduce prison violence and riots.  The host and them must talk for at least a half hour on the air about the above original and challenges.

8) Spearheads the citizen-initiated state-wide referendum that will accomplish Future Challenge #2 and it wins at the ballot.

9) Solo emcees a weekend mega-concert rally in favor of a citizen-initiated state-wide referendum that does FC #2.  To win this future challenge, the mega-concert must have at least 30 bands and get carried live by a US cable TV network or at least enough local TV stations so the entire state can watch the concert.  [SPECIAL NOTE: If you are such a radio talk show host and in the process of starting up such a rally, contact us and we'll try to get Jack to your rally.  Please contact us as far in advance as possible so we have a better chance of working your rally into Jack's schedule.  We might even be able to film your rally as part of an upcoming YouTube or TV special.]

First evening or late-night US broadcast or cable TV network talk show host to champion this challenge and:

10) Run a real "experiment" over in Amsterdam where they fly over at least 100 actors and actresses who have portrayed prisoners in movies and on TV show (including as simply extras) and who like to smoke marijuana, rent out an entire luxury hotel, house the actors and actresses in the hotel (giving each their own hotel room), feed them for free (they being allowed to eat that hotel's restaurant for free and order room service for free), buy them the best marijuana in Amsterdam (the person's choice), allow them to smoke as much of it as they wish, require them not to leave the hotel for at least eight days (from Monday to the second Monday), and then see what happens.  Each night of the show, the host has a "reporter" (an actor or actress who has played one on a TV show or in a movie) give her/him a live report from the hotel's lobby or bar about how the experiment is progressing.  Also, the "reporter" must interview the "prison warden" (an actor or actress who has played one in a movie or on a TV show) live on the show about how well the "inmates" are doing in this experiment.  [Comedy Central's Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Tosh.O qualify as evening cable TV network talk shows for this future challenge and all of the ones below.  Also, Jack Decker, BTC's creator, understands that this future challenge isn't a serious experiment, but views it as a fun way to raise the issue and something that the evening and late-night TV talk show hosts, who are all comedians, will likely have fun doing for a laugh on their show.]

11) Run a real "experiment" over in Amsterdam where they fly over at least 100 members of the US' most dangerous street and/or biker gangs (Hell's Angels, MS-13, etc.) who like to smoke marijuana, rent out an entire luxury hotel, house the gang members in the hotel (giving each gang member their own hotel room), feed them for free (they being allowed to eat that hotel's restaurant for free and order room service for free), buy them the best marijuana in Amsterdam (the gang member's choice), allow them to smoke as much of it as they wish, require them not to leave the hotel for at least eight days (from Monday to the second Monday), and then see what happens.  Each night of the show, the host has a "reporter" give her/him a live report from the hotel's lobby or bar about how the experiment is progressing.  More than four different street/biker gangs must be housed in the hotel and they must not be physically separated from each other nor can the hotel use security during the experiment.  If a gang member leaves the hotel during the eight days, they no longer get any free marijuana.

12) Get a maximum-security prison somewhere in the world to do the original challenge and then have the prison's warden give regular live reports on how prison violence and riots are being affected (or not) by the experiment.  For this future challenge and all the others below that deal with real prisons, the prison's ward must appear as a guest on the show before the experiment is done.

13) Get a maximum-security prison in Russia to do the original challenge and then have the prison's warden give regular live reports on how prison violence and riots are being affected (or not) by the experiment.

14) Get a maximum-security prison in Canada to do the original challenge and then have the prison's warden give regular live reports on how prison violence and riots are being affected (or not) by the experiment.

15) Same as Future Challenge #14 with the addition of the host filming her/his show for one week (Monday-Friday) at the prison of FC #14.

16) When a US maximum-security prison (state or federal) does the original challenge, get its prison warden to give regular live reports to the host about how prison violence and riots are being affected (or not) by the change.

17) Same as FC #16 with the addition of the host filming her/his show for one week (Monday-Friday) at the prison of FC #16.
