Russia: Relocate the "Pentagon" to Moscow. This move would be a good symbolic...

gesture by the USA to make Russians feel they are important to the USA ... as they would be.  Another "gesture" would be the building of the Trans-Bering Strait Bridge (a combination of superhighway, high-speed passenger rail, freight railroad [separate railroad tracks than for the passenger trains], oil pipeline system, and high-voltage power line) that would connect Russia physically to the USA.  Yes, there would be Canada between Alaska and the lower 48 but, again, the gesture would do wonders for relations with Russians.

The Trans-Bering Strait Bridge's social and economic impact would have on Russia cannot be overstated.  Currently, deep Russia (Siberia and such) are where no one really goes but leaves.  Connecting the bridge to the US superhighway system (via Canada) will change all of that.  American and European tourists (namely those with motorcycles, motorhomes, and camper trailers) will hit this new super-long superhighway as one of their must-do adventures on their Bucket Lists.  Campgrounds will sprout up overnight all along the highway.  Presently in the US alone, the campground industry annually rakes in five billion dollars and RVers are always looking for new places to explore.  Motorcycle clubs from both America and Europe will stream onto the new superhighway and, given the motorcycle subculture, it wouldn't be surprising that an annual major motorcycle rally takes place on either Big Diomede and/or Little Diomede.

As for nature, I could see part of the deal being that the superhighway from Nenana (just west of Fairbanks and likely where the new superhighway will connect to) to all the villages along the Yukon River and then from Kaltag to Shaktoolik and then running along the coastline to Wales (where the trans-strait bridge would start) be an elevated highway so not to cause too many vehicles killing wildlife.  This elevated highway would also produce much more spectacular views for drivers and might even make dealing with the permafrost easier due to smaller but more intense footprint.  For the same reasons, this elevated highway might be done until it connects to the Trans-Siberian Highway (R504) or at least the Egvekinot-lultin Road.

Not saying it would happen, but if invited, I, Jack Decker, would happily meet with Putim to discuss this idea.  Yup, even right now during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
